Partnerships are pivotal in a pandemic
Despite the travel downturn of 2020, Kiwi.com’s Tequila platform attracted an increased number of new partners during the year
There were upsides to the year 2020 for Kiwi.com with the B2B side of the company seeing a growing number of partnerships as travel related businesses looked to future recovery and growth with Kiwi.com’s unique range of content. Despite the pandemic and many cancelled flights, Kiwi.com saw an uplift in the number of registrations for the partners’ platform Tequila, signing new partnerships with travel companies including MakeMyTrip, LINE TRAVEL Jp and Travelstart. Kiwi.com saw more than 600 new companies register in December 2020, three times the average of the last three years. Global players, local champions, and promising startups reached out, looking to strengthen their value proposition.
Onboarding process simplified for partners in 2021
To make the partners’ experience even smoother, earlier this year, the partners’ portal Tequila introduced a new Solutions feature. Solutions is a brand new feature, that allows our partners to fully build and configure scenarios for their specific business requirements, be it API integration, widgets, or deep links.

The new feature provides a better user experience for partners as they no longer need to click through separate tools to research what they want to add, instead, through Solutions, they will instantly find the answer there. Additionally, partners will be able to fully configure their request, including settings and search options, giving them better flexibility. Further improvements are coming soon to make Solutions more visible inside Tequila across all partnerships, from affiliates to offline travel agencies.
Roman Studený, Director of Customer Acquisition Products commented, “With the roll-out of vaccinations around the world, we expect a big boom in new companies looking to fill the available space in the travel market. We want to attract and support those businesses by making Tequila onboarding as seamless as possible. The growth of partnerships in 2020 signals great things for 2021.”
